Team America: World Police (Parker, 2004)

The comedy in Team America: World Police ranges from ridiculously easy targets to humor that doesn't register at all because it is completely incoherent. The last half hour especially doesn't make a lick of sense. (Example: "Susan Sarandon, your talents are fading." Maybe, just maybe, this might be funny if there was a shred of truth to it.) Anyone who has seen a few episodes of South Park should be able to see most of these jokes coming a mile away. With the South Park movie, jaws dropped because we couldn't believe Stone and Parker were getting away with it. With this film, I couldn't believe that they were getting away with such a juvenile, unfocused, recycled, and worst of all, unfunny screenplay. Too bad, because the people who put together the puppets and made them work deserved better. Lame, lame, lame.
